Chacha Chaudhary - now on Silver Screen

Popular comic character whose mind is faster than the Computer, Chacha Chaudhary, will be now seen on the Big screen in sometime to come.

Diamond Comics has tied up with an American Film Company in the regard. The tie-up describes the production of a 3D Movie on the red turban hero of middle class families. The estimated cost of the movie is nearly $60 millions (around Rs 28 crore).

Gulshan Rai, President of Diamond Comics, confirmed that the 3D movie will be one-and-half to two hours long. Although they did not mention anything about the release of the movie.

Diamond Comics is also planning to bring it's other popular characters - Billoo, Pinky, Captain Vyom, Chhotu- Lambu, Mahabali Shaka on Internet, Television, Mobile, Direct-to-Home (DTH).

Under this campaign, the company will sell the product (comics) via Internet as well as Telecom by providing the comics digitally. Gulshan Rai said - We are now ripping off nearly three thousand comics released since 1974, into the digital interface. These Digital Comics will be sold for only half dollar (around 23 bucks) all over the world on websites like Google and Rediff.

Along with this, the company also contracted some major Mobile service providers like Tata DoCoMo, BSNL and Vodafone to make people read comics on their mobile devices. The comics will probably be available next month on the Internet.

Financial Awareness through Comics

Under its new campaign, RBI (Reserve Bank of India) has decided to increase financial awareness and the knowledge of Banking in children through comics.

Besides this, the plan also holds to introduce its course to schools and colleges including topics such as investment, savings and loans. The purpose of Reserve Bank through this is to step through the upcoming generation towards banking during the studies.

Reserve Bank's regional director Mr. Sandeep Ghosh told on August 14, the Financial Awareness Day that the bank has launched a program in which the banking in schools and colleges will be taught. Along with this, the involvement is also being made with NCERT and the other State Education Boards.

Raju's comics series is presented to increase awareness of the banking in young children. Information of Banking services in the comic series is given in a very interesting way for children.

Braveheart of Mumbai

The martyrdom of legendary NSG Commando Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan has now been immortalised in a war comic. In the latest release of Indian War Comics Braveheart of Mumbai, Major Sandeep is shown accomplishing the mission against the 26/11 Mumbai terrorist attack.

Significantly, Major Sandeep was in the team which was sent to set the Taj Hotel free from the Pak Terrorists after the Mumbai attack on 26th November 2008. During Operation Tornado, Major Sandeep died on 26th November, and was awarded Veer Chakra, posthumously.

The comic-book will be launched on the 14th august. It is the creation of 28-year-old Merchant Navy Officer, Aditya Bakshi, whose father GD Bakshi is a General in the Indian Army. Bakshi hopes his effort will motivate the young generation to join the Indian Army. Aditya says, his work on comic-books is a salute to the bravery of Indian Warriors. He also says, through comic-books we can affect children in a better way not to forget the martyrdom of Indian Warriors.

Before this release, Aditya had launched two comic-books based on Kargil Hero Captain Vikram Batra and Colonel CJ Nayar respectively. He is planning to share more about Indian Warriors through comic-books.
